Chances of brindle passing Lp?

I want to limit how my appy is in my herd. How likely is he to pass his remaining Lp? Worth the token or not?

I am very forgetful so if I owe you anything but am taking to long please send me a PM. I don't get on to play the game as often as I once did but I am usually most active during the 2nd and 3rd week of each month
  • So, by default brindles have a 50/50 chance of which DNA strand they will contribute to a foal. On that strand, there is a 50/50 chance of which allele will be passed along. So your boy currently has a 25% chance of passing LP. You can reduce that to zero by removing the LP. Alternatively, you can modify the inheritance chance of the strands by changing the inheritance chance of the strands. Setting Strand 1 at 100% inheritance will result in 0% chance of LP; setting Strand 1 at 75% inheritance will result in 12.5% chance of LP.

  • Well it all comes down to how much you do or don’t like Lp. Personally I don’t like it at all, but it has wormed it’s way into my herd, and I just had to spend a couple hours trying to cull it all out. It’s always easier to add genes in the future than get existing genes out of your herd.

Also a stallion who is bred constantly can have anywhere from 100-700 foals in his lifetime, a mare will usually only have 14 foals unless eggs are being made used. Looking at the chances of offspring it is easy to see how whatever genes the stallion has will be much more predominant in a herd than those of a single mare’s. When I want to limit how much of something is in my herd I make sure it’s on a mare, and doubly make sure it’s not on a stallion.

  • Thank you both very much! I think I might keep it on him specifically for my hidden snow carriers :D
