Question about a closed gene

I have straws I got from a stud before I sold him. The person I sold him to added a closed ice gene, of course the gene was added to the straws. Now I do not own this gene can I still use the straws?

I thought you couldn't GMT a horse if they had straws or eggs in existence, so that is a head scratcher. I would presume no, you can't use the straws? But I believe this is a question better suited for Ammit to answer!ID# 25784

You can GMT a horse after pulling straws or eggs as long as they haven't been used to create any foals yet.
I would assume that you shouldn't be able to use the straws.

You will not be able to use the straws. The best bet would be to ask the new owner if they would like to purchase all the straws at pull price.
