So I have been fiddling with this second generation boy in the GMT lab.


WW G2 Afaon BM

I don't know if I messed something up by merging him with a brother but I can't edit hit kit genes like I thought I should be able to.

I assumed that any offspring from a chimeric horse would inherit only from either the primary or secondary DNA strands never from both.

The boy above (with his E) should have come from his sire's second DNA strand. So I was under the impression that I could not GMT him with anything from his sire's Primary strand.

But when I tried to edit one of his W8 to W3 the GMT lab does not give me that option, instead it only gives me the option to add the Kit M from his sire's Primary strand. So it only gives me his sire's sire's alleles to choose from. This does not make sense to me.

Is it the merging that messed things up? Other offspring seem to be fine.
