I can’t figure out how the name generator works? Is there a special symbol to use like the number generator?

I haven't played with it but I think you have to use the @ symbol.
Use multiple @s for multiple word names.

Rename Horses
Create a template to modify to or replace horse names. "#" will be replaced by a horse's id number and "@*" will be replaced by a random word.

Only works with the bulk editor.

I did try using the bill editor, but I kept getting this error? Could it be because I’m playing on mobile?
“ Please use "@*" not "@" for random word generation.”

I think we are missing the * that needs to go directly after the @.
So @* not @

Yup! It is telling you you are forgetting the *. That is what that message says.
