Heterozygous Breeding Question
-
Based on punnet square logic, two heterozygous Satin horses should produce homozygous offspring 25% of the time, correct? Is the game true to life in that way?
I want to start a new line of Satin Sunshine horses, but I don't have the funds to start with two homozygous Satin foundations... I'm thinking I'll create two heterozygous Satins and hope that some of the babies pop out homozygous... If that's a possibility?
Could I GMT any non-homozygous offspring to be homozygous?✿ Kismet | #38280 | Bootstrapping Excellence ✿ -
Since both parents would carry a copy, yes all passing foals can be GMTd to have the copy they missed. And yes, you would have a 25% chance of foals inheriting both copies.Thanked by 1Kismet
