As far as boosts go, it really depends on what you are boosting. Boosting does not enhance the pt score.

For instance if you have a low A a 5% boost will not boost the horse to a star, but a high A with a 5% boost should be boosted to a star.there is no guarantees when it comes to boosts. Sometimes boosting a horse will get a paper to a level it will pass breeding advice, and sometimes it will not depending on how off both the parents were and how low the horse popped out at. I have all of my horses sorted into tiers to make it easier to see if something is worth boosting but typically I only boost my bootstrap lines.

It’s typically cheaper just to snip even bred horses and try again later, or hold onto one in l you get a better foal than it is to boost in my experience. Unless it’s something you are unlikely to replicate.

If you link a horse and what you’re trying to accomplish with boosting it might be easier to help.

As far as the c boys goes, I have no way to tell how low of a c he is. I very rarely boost ca, but every one I’ve added a 5% boost to foundation wise had dropped as a b. Do you have a “cherry drop” you could compare him to? I know for sure they will hit b when max boosted.

With a 5% boost he made it to A so your boy theoretically should as well.

Because if a cherry drop is given a 5% boost, it gets B papers. If that colt is comparison tested AGA (As Good As) a cherry drop, he should paper B when given a 5% boost.
