Breeding Troubles- Figured Out

I can’t figure out why I can only use straws from these guys.
When in pasture, I get the normal “# of breedable mares found” message at the top, but no foals in pasture and the mares all say unbred.
Their in-house breeding button is gone off their pages.
They are not an option when trying to select them for in-house breeding from the mare’s page.
Can anyone help me figure this out?
