Yay, Forced Overtime That Took My Weekend Completely Away
-
Hi all, not a horsey post:
I started a new job about 6 weeks ago? At the Post Office Processing and Distribution station near where I live and although its been great to work there and earn an awesome paycheck, most people in my position were forced to work over the weekend, which is standard and was disclosed as a possibility in the job description etc., but this is on top of the fact that my husband of six months just started working a 4pm to 12 midnight shift last week. With my 10am to 6:30pm shift, this means that we see each other when one or the other should be sleeping. I also tend to get emotionally tired by the weekend besides all the physically tired, so I have a lot of kinds of tired going on right now and I definitely don't have a chance to recuperate for another five days as my work week starts tomorrow.
I might even have to start making coffee.
I'm not looking forward to the wreck I'll be by Saturday night, but Joe's weekend (this week--it rolls around) starts Thursday night. So at least I can see him right when it gets bad.
(Also who do I call when I get sick or I'm late for work? I'm not sure that was covered in training. Trying to catch a supervisor in the massive warehouse is like trying to hold onto a greased pig. )
So I guess just Hi, I'm Anxious. Cue the dad jokes. -
Hugs :)
You just keep plowing through. You guys will make it work!

That sounds really tiring. Make yourself coffee or tea or whatever you need. Get a low stakes novel to read over breaks! Pack that cookie in your lunch bag! This is a sucky time to be a student/new grad trying to get started, especially when you're juggling a new marriage, but it won't always be this way.ID 43830
It's nice to be back! :)
