How to tell when your horses level off
-
Is there an easier way to check your horses to see if they've leveled off, or do you have to check each horse to see? Like is there a way to find them in the search?ID# 30479

I try to keep age groups in separate barns and mark my highest PT for that age group. Once the horses are 2 years past that PT, it's a good bet that they are leveled off.

Don't forget that even when they have leveled off they still retain their showing points and contribute to your nightly showing bonus, and unless they have leveled off at or near the very bottom of their classes, they will still continue to add to their total points with every show.
Leveling off does not necessarily totally cancel their value to your stable.
I've looked at several of my older horses that were into their twenties that were still adding substantially to my bank balance.
Here's a good example. This spayed mare is the oldest in my stable, I believe, at 29. She has a 10.4 PT score and so probably leveled off at age 11. She's continuing to show at Level 8 Regional, placing somewhere in the middle of her classes, and adding 40 some points to her total each time. Her contribution to my showing bonus is 107 hbs every night.
She hadn't been named and was going by her ID number, but since she has definitely earned a name, she now has one. :D
