Ive had a rough past week. About a week ago i went to a baby shower with about a dozen people, most of them being children (dont worry, i was socially distancing myself as much as possible). Everything is fine and dandy, until about two days after I started to show signs of Covid (weakness, constant headache, slight dry cough, i lost my sense of taste).

Come to find out a lady that I had sat a couple feet away from, not even for thirty minutes, had tested positive for Covid (there is so much frustration surrounding what happened- a couple other people there also later tested positive because of this lady). S h e d i d n t w e a r a m a s k. she didnt even warn us. If I had known, i wouldn't have gone.

It is what it is though, and i went in to get a Covid test a couple hours ago.. the results should be in (maybe) within the next three days.

Can i get some funny stories to hold me over? Maybe some jokes, or wholesome memes? X_X

I am so sorry that lady didn't protect you all at the shower. That's really scary and frustrating and hard <3<br />
*Edit - the forum stopped working for me halfway through my comment so I didn't get to share my funny story! Here goes:

My teenage brother is a human gem - kind, funny, and very ok with just being himself. He's pretty cute and plays soulful guitar so the girls at school are all over him. Unfortunately for them, he's too busy having his own fun to take any interest whatsoever in dating. At school he's been known as "The Anti-Cupid" ever since he spent an afternoon skateboarding in circles around his friends who were dating while he lipsynced to cheesy love songs.

At lunch one day, a girl told her friend to tell my brother she liked him. The friend faithfully relayed the message, and my brother responded by telling at the top of his lungs in a crowded cafeteria - "NOPE! I'M A SINGLE PRINGLE!"

The very next period, my brother and the girl who liked him had to be lab partners for the frog dissection. Cheers to the grossest, most awkward biology lab of my brother's life!

That person who went to a baby shower knowing they were positive... There are just no words.

But, I can supply funny and horse related to maybe make you laugh. Okay, to definitely make you laugh, even my brother who knows nothing about horses laughed at this one back in the day.

Anyone and everyone who grooms a male horse should read this post, but everyone else should too just because we all could use a good laugh. :D I remember when Pat posted it the first time about 25 years ago on Equine-L, an ancient listserv email group I was in lo those many moons ago. Pat posted often about her trials and tribulations with her gelding, who was dubbed The Orange Horse because he was. Orange, that is. Like he should have been the Tennessee mascot orange. :))

Anyway! When Pat posted this extremely funny tutorial it had us all laughing for days, and then for over a year if anyone mentioned they had done something embarrassing, some smart-aleck would ask if Excalibur was involved. That would inevitably lead to much laughing all over again and usually someone resharing the post for the new people, and it was a sort of pre-meme meme in the online horse world for a while. lol

It's very PG, I promise, but it's also very funny and actually is something all horsepeople should know how to do.

That's so rude! It's one thing not to wear a mask when you're not sick, but to sit in a crowd KNOWING you're sick and not protecting anyone else? I wish some people would take this virus a little more seriously.

I can't think of a funny story right now, but if you like Harry Potter and have a lot of time on your hands, this is a college...adaptation. I think they were high when they wrote it. But it's very good and very funny. :D

Have you ever listened to Weird Al Yankovic?

He does parodies of famous songs and has been for years. (I'm showing my age here.) He's good for a giggle when you need one. Hopefully this link will work, if not, Google his name and just follow links for his songs. Or YouTube him. His videos are hilarious as well.

@HTRanch oh my gosh! That poor girl :-)) I cant believe he yelled that in front of a whole cafeteria of people, and then they were forced to be partners. The ironyy xD

@Justa that definitely made me giggle! I love how they were very informative, yet they brought some humor to the topic so it was easier to digest :-)) I actually want my mom to read that, and i wanna see what her reaction would be.. (She knows nothing about horses)

@RoseFlute i watched the first couple videos, and im hooked! Ill definitely watch all of 'em over the next couple days <3 thank you for showing me!<br />
@ChevalStables of course i know weird al! My momma raised me on his parodies haha (Party in the CIA is my favorite!) He's such a wholesome dude, and i love that he doesnt rely on shock value to make people laugh.

Isn't he awesome? My son and I listen to him on car trips and laugh so hard we sometimes have to pull over.

If you like British humor I highly recommend Monty Python, Little Britton, and the Goon Show (although it's extremely old 1950's). Example: Would you care for a gorila? - No thank you, I'm trying to give them up.

Black Adder is also really good, but skip the first season.

Black Books and the IT Crowd are epic.

@MariaChapinFarm3 I know many people who have sent it to non-horsey family members over the years, and everyone I know who did got a lot of laughs. ... And sometimes weird conversations at holidays when they saw those relatives in person again. :))

Im sorry for the late response everyone. The past couple days have... Been a lot to say the least. My baby sister woke up with a 100.8 temp and so did my mom- my symptoms have been like a rollercoaster (ill feel fine one second, then ill almost pass out and start gasping for breath). The test came back positive and i only have three days left on my quarantine, but im almost positive at this point that I will have to stay longer. Im physically angry at the person that did this, I've not only missed almost two and a half weeks of work, but i have to watch my family suffer.

Im sorry for the rant guys. I really needed to vent :-S

Thanks everyone for the good vibes. You all have seriously made my week (insert heart here). I love logging in every morning to read all of the comments that y'all have posted.
@ChevalStables i have one thing to say to you.. your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries! :)) whats black adder about?

Sadly this is why everyone should wear a mask anytime they are indoors together. Anyone not wearing a mask can not be trusted to respect the health of others. It is impossible for people (or even ourselves) to know if we have it or not. :(

I wish you and your family recovery. I know this one can be a long slog to get over. Socially distant hugs.
