Usually the conversion rate is 100k per $1 (that doesn't mean that you wont find people to add it for cheaper though)

Yeah,question about that.

When buying Hbs the conversion rate is .00009 to .00013 hbs per US dollar. So going by the shop values on this site, the same amount I'd pay for 3 copies of a gene would be the same as buying 500000hbs. Why is there such a stark disparity?

Also, I'm offering what I have. I don't have anything more.

It’s more a factor of, how much real world money are people willing to put into the game for fake cash. I know, personally, the 100k per $1 usd isn’t worth it for me anymore.

You are literally trading fake money for real money....so your fake money won’t be worth as much depending on the buyer. The market fluctuates just like the other markets in the game. The $1 usd for 100k is simply what most people are comfortable feeling like they are “getting something” for putting their real money down.

With every gene beOmg available this weekend, there’s going to be a surplus of people that are looking for genes so more than likely even 100k for $1 isn’t going to get you your genes, as there are a limited number of people willing to spend real cash on the game and tons of people that are going to want to trade hbs.

If somebody is willing to pay me $200k per I’m going to go with that person, rather than the person giving less. There’s no guarantee there will be anybody adding genes for money, especially during the crisis we are having currently.

Also, to get 1 million dollar smog game currency, you have to spend $90 in game. So the 100k to $1 sounds nicer when you put it that way.

I wasn't trying to be mean whatsoever timber, I'm sorry if i came off as such. The rate has pretty much been widely accepted by most players on HAJ: although i did say there might be people that would take less HBs for the genes, it might be hard to find considering that there are people willing to pay over the conversion rate to get a gene.

I think it would also be extremely unfair if someone could pay another player a small amount of HBs to get an even larger amount of in game cash (what you were saying about the HB difference). That's why the conversion rate wouldn't work in that way
Edit: i also agree with pest. When i offer to buy genes i usually ask for a little bit more than the rate, because it is actual money thats being spent. The rate is just a fair base to start at.

Nah it's fine. I didn't mean to sound snappy. Something's got me feeling out sorts and I didn't realize that I have no control over my mood until I posted that. Still growling but I'll try to keep a muzzle on. I'm going to step away from the forums for a bit until this passes.

Forget it then. I'll see what I can do on my end. It still doesn't make sense or seem quite fair for such a large disparity.

This isn't coming from a "Wah, I don't want to spend money!" I thinking of the people who may not have the means to pay for things digitally. Then they have to offer up to x1000000 as much in value to have someone help them out.

I just see a different side to it and a different message to such a disparity. It's not a nice one.
