I request assistance on a tablet issue.
-
So my SO and I have combed through Google and have found no answers. I figured beseeching the ever helpful huntnjump community would be worth a shot.
I received an Android tablet, dragon touch K10, and was intending to use it for drawing. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't actually draw anything recognizable because of stylus latency. I've tried my finger, 3 different styluses, and looking up possible resolutions with the tablet itself, all to no avail. There's plenty of people complaining about the same issue but there doesn't seem to be anyone open about a possible solution. Since I know a fair number of you are artists I was hoping maybe someone here could help or at least encountered the issue and found a work around.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

For drawing, you really need a drawing tablet. The cheap screen in tablets are designed for games and light use not drawing. Huions are very affordable and I have had good luck with it.
Let go of the idea of being able to draw right on a visual screen. You need to pay hundreds and hundreds for that and very few digital artists use that or need that. A lot of amatures think you need to see the image but you really don't. If you have learned to use a mouse you can learn to use a screenless tablet.
I know probably a dozen professional artists through my gaming industry contacts and I believe only one draws right on a screen.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

I have a screenless tablet. It's just that the computer borked and due to health issues I spend more time in bed than upright. So we got the tablet as a way of providing me with an outlet for creativity while I was in bed or (Gods forbid) I end up in the hospital again.
My screenless tablet was a cheap thing when I got it and it's outlasted a lot of expensive on screen tablets. I love that thing, but its hard to stay at the computer when your head is swimming.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

And I do draw with traditional paper and pencil mediums, Im just prone to making a mess with all the pencil and eraser shavings, lead smudging, paper everywhere, etc.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

@Timber I feel your pain! Well, I don’t literally, and I already produce plenty, so no need to share, but figuratively, I feel you ; ) Our bodies may be unreliable, but the stubborn tenacity of horse people knows no bounds! I want to help you find a solution, the best I can ❤️
Are you generally (stuck) in bed at a mostly horizontal position, or do you tend to have a certain degree of slope? I.E. are you propped up with pillows, wedges, a raised bed, or are you laying as flat as possible? Is there any major affect on your upper limbs from being in bed?
Have you tried mounting a screen on an arm that goes in front of or above your head, so you can comfortably view it while in bed? Would that enable you to return to a screen-less tablet, or are there other visual reception challenges at play? (This did not work for me because it made my migraines worse, but we’re all different.)
If you want to, please PM me, and we can figure this out. My mobility ranges from normie-ish in a chair, to “I cannot move my arms or neck so I am instructing my caregiver where to click as they hold the screen up to my myopic eyeballs because BY GOLLY I am not missing out on a Rank Special just because of a little thing like immobility,” and lots of in-between. Sometimes I play H&J while dangling upside down to get some pressure off my spine. I have even been known to play through a face cradle on a treatment table, with a stack of books propping up my phone from below.
We do what we gotta do! This game really helps me mentally get through the rough days, so if drawing does the same thing for you, I want you to be able to happily draw from whatever position your body allows you to that day ❤️❤️❤️Looking for Appaloosas? Check out my Riata account.
You matter to me!
You are valued, you are important, and you are loved! ❤️Thanked by 1Ammit
