What’s causing the top of her tail to be brown? Is it the non dun?

I have no clue what would be causing it, but I would check for other horses with the same brown coloring on their tail and compare the genetics.

It’s the nd1. See how this mare has a darker section at the top of her tail, and a dark shoulder marking.
