Limit on how many pastures/horses can be bred with Breed All button?
-
This is the second season in a row I've used the Breed All Your Pastures button (with studs only in about 60% of pastures last month, and more like 25% this time) and had each pasture do only partial breeding.
Ex: This is a 30 horse pasture where only 10 mares were bred:

It's not that I'm losing foals, and if I click the individual "breed this pasture" button now, the rest of the mares will breed. I assume this is because I have too many horses now.
Is there a set limit to the number of horses (or number of pastures) that you can breed all together successfully? I love the data from the "best of the bunch" email, but it isn't very accurate for me this way. If I have to give up on it, I will live. But I'd like to know if there's something I can do differently. -
As far as I know it caps at 500. I think you can hit it a second time, though? I don’t have that many otherwise I’d check :)

Stallions can only live cover 50 mares per season. You may want to check that. A good way to tell is if they are staggering back to the barn but have goofy, satisfied looks on their faces.Thanked by 1Lallyhop

Thank you @pestilenttempest! That's the info I was looking for and I will double check my pasture numbers. My stable is a bit out of control, I probably need to thin my stock, and I definitely need to do some math before I click the Breed All button.
Thanks for the reminder @ConfluenceFarms! That's not the issue I'm having in this case, but I DID run into it when I tried re-breeding a 60 mare pasture and only got 10 more babies instead of 20. :D
