Casual ISO Bootstrap Stallion
-
Hi all.
If you hadn't guessed by the name, I set this account up with the intentions of building my own bootstrap herd. I've spent the last few months building up some money. I'm now in the market for some starter stallions. I'm completely open on genes, size and age. I'd rather avoid the most dangerous genes such as frame, W1 or W2 if possible. I'm looking for something over 13.0PT and up to 3 stallions for now. Having passed BA would be desirable, but not necessary. These fellas will provide the foundations to my herd.
Many thanks in advance -
If you'd consider foals:
SELL 5860853 BS130
I have this guy for sale who passed BA and has a nice array of colors, but unfortunately is inconsistent. He should go up in PT score if GMT to perfect consistency.
AGA5874534 BS133 makefilly
There is also this one which I planned on making a filly, but which I'd be willing to part with if it could help someone start up with bootstrapping. -
@DreamyMeadows I'd love the other fella if possible too. I have 3 spaces in patures, but I plan on doing a little hand breeding too. They are some lovely babies. How does 25k sound?
-
Perfect! I put him for you in my chat room.
-
He is not BA'd but I'd be willing to offer up this fella, he is 13PT Consistent and he's got some good bootstrap bloodlines running through him.

I could share a 13+ high Star boy or two if you like. :) Are there any colors or patterns you particularly want or don't want?~*~ Justa ~*~

@CeffylDwr he'd be lovely would you take 15k?
@JustaSaddletramp I'm not looking for anything in particular. I'm a fan of livers, grullos and wild bays. I'm not a fan of grey or champagne. I'm a big fan of appy, sabino, kp and snowflake, but I'd rather keep it more simple than risk producing batch after batch of pure white foals. These stallions will have to produce a few batches of babies with foundation mares so a few pretty genes wouldn't go amis -
Sure I can do 15k I can throw him up in either JustaNotherChat or BlackWylds chat which would you prefer?Dabbler in EVERYTHING.

@Seaswell @Firebrand They would be lovely. 15k each okay for you?

@StrapUpMyBoots How about these boys? Both are 13.5 consistent and AGA their sire, who is a very high star, and both can still be GMT to tweak them a bit.

@JustaSaddletramp I'd love them!
I'd like to say a huge Thank You to you all. I cannot wait to see the babies I get out of these, and I've got plenty of boys to rotate them for a few seasons to get a wide base for my herd.
Now I'm off to create a bunch of ponies in the hope of grabbing some Gmts to perfect a few of these gents -
Can't wait to see what you'll be getting! Good luck with your bootstrapping.
-
All three of those boys are available! Turn of Konick is Het GP, but I could only GMT one copy onto him when I was looking for one I could make Hom, so it looks like I abandoned him, but he was one I was looking at making one of my breeder boys if he could have the right genes. All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.

You probably wouldn't find any better out there than something from @Wildland_Acres
-
I have a ton of high PT boys available though most are young and I haven't had a chance to completely test all of my Feb/March foals. Most but not all of them are BAed (most that aren't are from my highest boosted stallions). If they are 3yr or older and don't have keep or boost in their name they can be sold.

Again, I cannot thankyou all enough for your generosity and the willingness to open up lines for other players. I cannot wait to get my own line going so I can spread the love and help others out :D
@JustaSaddletramp Thankyou so much! At the moment, I'm planning on breeding from foundation mares and building from there. I've no idea how well this will work, but I'm hoping at the very least, I'll be able to build a respectable show herd and an interesting line with plenty of genes dotting around.
@WildlandAcres I'd love any of them you'd be willing to part with. I'll have to do alot of hand breeding to get things going, so they'll have a very good life with me. They are very strong stallions, I don't mind paying a little more for them.
@NowandForever I'd love to have a go with this boy if you'd be willing to part with him.

I also spotted this boy and I'd just like to say he's gorgeous and much like what I'm aiming for on my little uneven line on my main account
NaF Royale Glory BoP AGA -
@StrapUpMyBoots Good luck! You can totally breed a nice boot herd from foundie girls. I have a lot in my herd who were bootstrapped like that, it's pretty normal for how most boot herds start out. It might take you a couple gens to reliably get gold/star foals depending on the stallion, but the colts will all be good show ponies and the mares can try again. lol~*~ Justa ~*~

It looks like you've already found a couple, but if you want another, I have this guy. He's liver pearl with KitM, pased BA, 13.1 PT and I would keep him myself but he's just a bit too heavy for me. Price negotiable, if you're interested.

@WildlandAcres that would be amazing! Thankyou so much. This is my chat
https://hj2.huntandjump.com/buddy_chat.php?chatid=1172
@FeldingFields I grabbed him, thankyou so much. I don't have much in the way of DP boys, so he'll add the gene in.
@JustaSaddletramp Well fingers crossed. I've only ever done even breeding on my main account, and I have a pasture that I throw random mare sin with my strongest stallions to see what happens. Its lots of fun and produces strong showing babies.
I'm hoping to be producing about 100 show babies per month on here. Once I get a few generations of mares together, I'll definitely be offering the babies to newer players. I'm going to hand breed along with my pastures so all the boys will get a chance, and lets be honest, its going to be alot of work before I get a boy anywhere near close to these gents.
I'd like to thank you all for your generosity and I am so excited to begin my bootstrapping journey this season -
K. Can you set it up for me to be able to put them for sale on there? All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.

@StrapUpMyBoots It really does produce great show ponies, especially with such strong stallions to start with. You should do really well with what you've got now to build from. :)~*~ Justa ~*~

@strapupmyboots if you’re ever in the market again, check my accounts NxtLevelElegance and Zefexperiment. They are all bootstrap with some flashy genes. :)

@Wildland Acres if you open the link, there is a request membership button at the top of the page. You need to click it, refresh the page and it should allow you to pop horses up for sale then. Let me know if you have further issues.
@NxtLevelGlen thankyou so much. I'll have het and possibly hom SF bootstrap colts this season. Not sure if i'll have any 13pt, but should be at least close. I'll also have lots of blue and maybe some red fillies het or hom SF. I usually spay, but can save if you or anyone else wants them.#28036

@Haltanny, please feel free to drop a link if you do get lucky enough for a hom snowflake bootstrap over 13.0PT

Well I just bred my pasture for the first time. Nothing passed. Not even one :))
Some of the mates were yellow papered brindles and none had the full bonus. Next time I don't think I'll be ba-ing the mares for a few seasons
Oops
On the plus side, at least I've got my first batch of show babiesThanked by 1Chillax -
Yes - don't BA any mares if you are bootstrapping. You probably have really good guys to use. You have to paper them and keep the blues (and golds) and gene test and PT them, then turn off the rest of the testing so you do not accidentally press the breed advice button. You can BA the boys and use the good PT ones for show. You won't be able to BA the girls until at least 20% the boys are passing :)Breeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.Thanked by 1StrapUpMyBootsOLD
-
If you have really good boys it may take 4-8 seasons before you can BA and then only with gold mums.Breeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.Thanked by 1StrapUpMyBootsOLD

@StrapUpMyBoots do you have a wrong warp license? If so I have this foal from my pasture this season who passed SBA and tested STS.
AL Salems Star BSBreeder of the tallest drafts -
@WildlandAcres than you so much! I cannot wait to use your boys
@ApollosLegacy I don't have any licences on this account, but Thank you for the offer. I've just bought WW on my main account, it's such a cool gene
@Dinascar it's my first time bootstrapping from foundie mares I am prepared for mistakes haha. I will definitely be using paper levels instead next time I breed.
