There is no such thing as a chocolate liver :) chocolate is a gene that is only visible on black-based horses (E ? instead of ee). To make your horse (who is ee) black based so that the chocolate shows, you need to add one E. If you do that, your horse's color name will show as "black chocolate"

Right now your horse is a liver chestnut, which is at least 3 darkening genes on a chestnut base. You may also be thinking of a chocolate palomino which is a palomino (chestnut base) carrying three darkening genes.

Hmm. I'm not as familiar with the chocolate gene since it came out right before I took a 2-month semi-hiatus. But it appears that the bottom two horses are homozygous dp (black liver) and your stud is only het DP. Check before you spend the GMTs, but I bet if you add the second copy of DP your boy will become a chocolate liver.
