Brindle question; is this normal?
-
So, like most people in this game, I collect brindles, and I spotted this one in auction. The marking behind the shoulder area confuses me. I've never seen brindle manifest that way; I usually just see the alternating color bands. So is this normal? If so, any idea what causes it?

I believe that could be the tobiano marking under it. I’m no expert, best wait for someone more experiencedID - 47350 (Most Licences) Breeding heavy. Carry it Forward Project - Snf, Kp, Dp, Df, Sa and Sb2. Welsh Dreams - Full of fantasies

Yes that is normal. Normally I see brindle manifest like that when there is a white spotting gene involved but I suppose the appy or tobiano could be the cause. Here is one of my mares that has a lot of that spider webbing.

That is her tobiano reacting with her brindle. I have one as well. Of course, her's stands out a little more than your girl's does, but!
