Do clones count as bred horses? I have a clone of a foundation horse and he comes up in the drop down menu for the GMT Lab but not for the RGS. I would like to edit him for my rainbow riot line but if I can’t I will turn him into a girl and throw him in pasture.

No, clones can not have genes added from the RGS.

Clones can't have RGS genes added. Example, yes, you could add DP to that foal, if it doesn't have it (I didn't click, so...), but you can only add it via GMTs, not RGS. You can add any gene the RGS has, as long as it's also in the GMT Lab. If it's not, you can't add it. And most closed genes won't add tp clones once cloned. I.e, watercolor. If it's not spontaneously freestyle l creatable, or based off a real gene (I think), it won't clone. I think Onyx does, only because it's located on Dun.

All good. Well, Onyx does clone because this clone has it. Guess he will become a she and get a couple of edits from the GMT lab before she goes to pasture.

So is anyone cloning anymore? Doesnt seem to be an efficient use of hbs given the increased availability of high quality foundations through the Herd Helpers.

I knew the foal had Onyx, it's why I mentioned Onyx.
I know MariaChapinFarm3 clones a lot. I'm not sure if many others do or not, though.
I kinda wish things like watercolor cloned (even if we had to pay a little more to do it), because then I'd see a reason to clone several of my horses.

I’m cloning one of my foundation guys when he hits that age, he’s my snowflake/KP stud that also has satin. I’ll have to add back the KP and satin in the GMT lab if I still want it, but everything else he has will clone so it’s worth it. But none of my fantasy guys will get cloned, and I see no reason to clone later gen horses.

I used to clone some higher gen horses but don't now that they don't get parents genes. Foundations might be worth it occassionly, just to get right size/weight and a few basics, but yeh rgs genes can't get added just the get lab so most special stallions better recreating from scratch

I will be cloning two of my foundation boys as they get close to their age out since they carry mostly genes that will clone. It will be easier to clone them then GMT new foundations.
