Valid Bid Higher Then Person Who Got The Horse?

    Placed a bid of 166k on a horse, game said valid bid placed and auction clock turned off so I went to my barn.... horse isn't there I have the funds and the room for the horse so go and check and the horse went to the person I was competeing with but their "winning" bid was 116k...

    Can someone explain why the auction house would say valid bid and then not honor the bid?
    Dabbler in EVERYTHING.
