Sad days for me
  • I was so excited to breed my new Satin stud this season, but I guess he forgot his deal to the speld fairy because she claimed all but one filly for her own! :(( I haven't gotten around to my pearl pasture so now I'm a little nervous LOL

    This is my lone survivor:

I love her to death, and she's even the best out of my pasture foals but gosh it hurt to lose her sisters!

    The casualties:

They're all satin and high papered so I'm thinking of just GMTing them intact later on :-?
  • I love the sprinkle of freckles across the face of that first one! Very Shirley Temple!

  • Confluence - that’s my favourite trait of frame! I’ll be sad to see it change

  • Beautiful horses and I am sorry you lost some.

  • Unfortunately I have done the same thing several times...your boy is much higher than the mares so that´s what is causing the spelds.
I have a bunch of mares up for public brood (pretty sure some are Satin or at least het) that are from my bootstrap herd if you´re looking for some more mares to try and get some intact foals. I´m working on culling my 1k+ mares.

  • @NowandForever I didn't know that, though it makes sense! I still have my pearl and rank special pastures to go through but if I don't end up keeping many I may check out your girls, thanks for the offer! :)
  • @GoldenShoe, in the future if you breed uneven horses together just don't run BA/SBA on the foals. Uneven/bootstrap breeding is a way to bring up your foals' PT or paper level quickly or create tons of speldings as pretty show ponies.

I learned the hard way not to BA uneven foals by getting all my first crop of foals spelded. I still breed unevenly but now (almost 2 real years later) I'm getting a bunch of foals to pass BA and even a few SBA but I also started with a super high Star stud and Yellow papered mares. Both of my original studs were hom Satin so I have a bunch of it still in my herd.
