Just finishing the finishing touches on this boy! So excited how well he is turning out so far.

1G Heartsbane

Mostly having a hard time decided if I want to change one F to f. Almost always I prefer flaxen. And it's recessive so I don't get a lot of it. But I think that on him I prefer it darker mane. What do you think?

Finally, if he was your horse what would you change? Also what you change if you were going to try and sell straws from him? I'm more limited by how much time I want to wait to breed him then budget. If I'm patient enough my budget will let me buy most genes I would want on him. Thanks!

I already boosted him from a PF to expro. Do you think boosting him more would make him more or less attractive? I know as a benchmark breeder the higher is better but I know some prefer to breed even ability to even ability.

But don't know what i want to to with him. You won't be able to see any of his foals colors, but I am still tempted to make one A an a, and add DP, and maybe silver. Maybe make the roan a cooler kit gene. Make oneP a p. Would you bother or would you save the money to make changes to the other boy?

Just so you know, you can't add more than a 5% boost to one horse. Personally I'd leave the F as is, but I don't really like flaxen lol. Also, I would be interested in buying some straws from him when he's ready. No real opinion on the second guy.

Oh yea. I just got confused by the expros boosted to A and got confused. Oh well. That's fine by me.

For sure. I will make a post when I am ready to sell straws.

Heartsbane: I like the darker mane on Onyx so there’s a counterpoint between the dark body markings and the mane. I think the ones with silver or flaxen manes look a little unbalanced...
Might consider adding dun or nd1 to him? Might consider adding another pattern gene to him so there is a better chance of his foals showing the spiders—maybe tobiano?

Dragvandil: I would consider adding cream to him just because I like the cream expressions of Warp a lot. Might also consider dun because it’s another cool expression. Honestly I love him as is though.

I’m keen for straws to both of them once they’re finished!

OOh. Cream on Dragvandil is a good idea. Didn't think of that one.

And dun is ALWAYS good on everybody! Now just to decide between Nd1 or D. Which is actually a hard decision. Haha. I love both.

Yes, definitely adding toby to Heartsbane. I kinda wanted to add a more expensive kit gene, but I think that will have to be next project.
