Meet Två Gånger Exceptionellt! Translation: Two Times Exceptional because she is a exceptional show horse with over 1000points and is an exceptionally perfect homozygous sooty with a copy of champagne.

She is one of my GMT projects "Load the Boats" and the objective is to load her down with as many cool genes as I can find.

Tva Ganger Exceptionellt

She carries 2 copies of DP, Sooty Plus, and Kit Promoter. Två also carries ND1, Onyx, Splash M, and pearl (1 copy each).

Satin is in the cards for her but I am debating on Gulastra Plume. I don't breed for it personally so don't have any carriers or studs with it (or it is hidden). Thoughts?

She has KP but doesn't show it yet because I haven't added KIT genes yet.. debating on these as well.. roan is a personal favorite but open to other suggestions. I briefly debated KitM but already have several other prospects with that.

I am thinking one copy of silver because it is fun to occasionally get those diluted bays/blacks and with her genes, she can produce any of the 3 base colors depending on the boy so quite versatile. Probably will add cream so there is chance of double dilutes/pseudo pearls/pearls if crossed on the right boys.

PATN maybe? She would be a silent carrier if that happens. IF I have enough GMTs left, I would max out her bone but that is low priority.

Not wild about snowflake because I already have a line of liver chestnut mushrooms with flaxen and snowflake.

What else would you all recommend/want to see on her ultimately? She is only 2 so I have plenty of time to work on her. CHristmas sales are also coming up when she comes of age to breed!

Well, I am a sucker for ice, and I have almost every one. Ice 9 and 13 are particular favorites. She'd look really neat with ice 9

Gulastra Plume is a homozygous recessive, hidden gene just like snowflake. It requires one copy of black and one copy of bay or brown, plus both copies of GP to display. Any fantasy genes will prevent the horse from being entered into the breeders club, and splash can give the white tail tip that GP gives, so if you have splash in the line it can hide the GP display if there are fantasy genes preventing the horse from entering the club. (I feel it’s important to note that splash m doesn’t turn the tail white, at least in my experience, so splash m shouldn’t cause problems in that regard.) A silver gene with champagne will hide the tail as well with GP, so there is that to consider.

I also would vote for an ice. 8 or which ever one you have been eyeing.

@DevilsParadise- I want ice 9 and I hadn't considered that for her! That might be just what she needs to finish her off.. fingers crossed it pops up in the RGS soon! Thanks for the suggestion!

@FallenShadows714, I had considered those as well.. after thinking about it for a few days, I think I will probably not do the GP because it would be pointless to add it to my herds as I don't breed for bays exclusively and it would very rapidly get lost in the masses. Thank you for your thoughts :-D

@Seaswell, I am thinking Ice 9 like DevilsParadise suggested! It is such a pretty one and I have been dying to add it to my watercolor line since I saw a watercolor/ice 9 combo. Talk about stunning! Tva is going to be crossed to all of my boys at some point because she will have something each line will benefit from.

Any other thoughts or suggestions, especially on KIT genes?

I highly recommend ice9. It was my first fantasy gene, and it is still my favorite.

I love the look of plaid with macchiato, especially on that creamy latte color your mare has going on. I know it just went out of the RGS though...

Yet another vote for Ice 9 :-) Definitely a must for this mare then!

I have...mixed feelings about plaid. Sometimes I think oh that is cool then other times it is ehh! I will have to look at more examples of plaid with macchiato and see if I like that particular combo!
