GP question
-
I want to put a ton of goodies on my main future foundie stud and I’m wondering what else I should add, I don’t want anymore white genes or any closed genes so I wanted to get your guys opinion on GP because I don’t know much about it. I know it wouldn’t show on him because they have to be bay but even if you can’t see it the foals will carry it.
Here is my stud

I have a line of GP on pearl, and it gives a nice looking ombre effect that looks so good on them. If you are going to keep him chestnut, I would try to breed him to EEAA mares. But keep in mind that when you go to breed those second generation, the amount of bay GP horses you get might be low, since they would all be het for black (eE) bay (aA) and gulastra (Gg). If you are set on keeping him red based, you might might add agouti. Even though I have W10, I try to keep to much white out, including splash, since it can white out the tail.
