So I have a new gmt project and I would like to put him Sabino 1 and/ or hom white 3 or hom white 10
But I don’t like excessive white or whites out horses. I especially don’t want the foals to be completely white or mostly white. I don’t know how these white genes will interact so I wanted to see if someone could help tell me about them.
I also will 100% be putting hom kitM on my gmt project because that is one of my favorite genes. I know that kitM and het Appaloosa together won’t white him out because my original stallion has that but I’m not sure if I add those other genes whether it will white him out or not and what it would do to the foals.

Het Kit M and Het W10 generally pair well together with minimal whiting out but if he is hom W10 he can not have Kit M. Same goes for Sabino 1 and W3. Those are all kit genes so if he is hom of them he can not have Kit M or the others, to combine he would have to be het of any of them.

1B ALMP Dissonance

This guy is W3/W10, Macchiato/Splash 1, hom Splash 2 and hom Frame. Plus het Lp. All together, he has 9 white pattern alleles. Check out his offspring to see how they look. All his offspring have W3 or W10, Macchiato or Splash 1, het Splash 2 and het Frame, some are Lp.

But CeffylDwr is correct, you can only have 2 kit genes. So hom kitM, or kitM+one of the others.

Thanks! Most of his white patterns are lethal, so can't really interbreed the offspring, but i have plenty of others to mix in.

@Haltanny yeah so I will be making him hom kitM but I was looking in the lab at the splash genes and saw one that said splash 2 +
But I didn’t know that was a gene and it doesn’t show up when you try to search it
Do you anything about that gene? Would splash cause too much white?

Splash 2 is PAX3^C70Y. The "+" is "not splash 2" and is PAX3+. It's on the "Pattern" tab of the horse search page, third box over at the top.

Splash 3 i believe is only available in the Roving Gene Sale, so it doesn't show up on the GMT page.

My stud above has Splash 1, Splash Macchiato and two Splash 2 genes. As long as you keep white factor lower, then there wont be too much white. Splash 2 and Splash 3 are both lethal though, so you'll want to be careful if you use them when breeding his foals. If a horse gets two Splash 2, two Splash 3 or one of each, it'll die. GMT horses don't count though.

W10 creates very white horses, so I'd stay away from most of the W genes, and sb1. W20 boosts white and is very common, so that paired with w10, w2 w1 etc is pretty much just white. Homozygous KitM is a good option!

W10 with W20 will white out a horse at any white Factor, so if you’re keen on W10 I would plan a mare herd with no W20 at all.

I would also mention that Splash 2 is homozygous lethal, so if you put that on him you will need to be careful if you want to breed his offspring to each other.

Haltanny's horse should be almost completely white. It's the brindle that tones it down.
