New C stud! What else should I add?
-
One of my favourite foundie studs is 14 and I've been starting to prepare for his inevitable aging out.
AH Shot of Glory
Yesterday I think I created his replacement! Tested as good as that guy up there (who tested AGA a Vault of Stars stud, so I assume they are both on par with a TNP create).
AH Second Shot
I believe he is het DP. I like DP on everything, so I'll probably add another copy and make him hom. I also plan on making him hom S+. And I'm considering one copy of ND1 just because it's on sale.
I will probably use him in my liver/chocolate lines too, so I'll make him homozygous for flaxen. And of course shrink him down because I like teeny tiny ponies.
Any suggestions for what else I might add? I'm not interested in fantasy genes or satin. Maybe Tiger Eye? -
I really like the plans you have already! I don't think more is better with foundies.
I like to keep my foundie studs with just the "must have" genes and then cross them with mares that have other miscellaneous genes I like, but don't necessarily want on every foal. That way I get a bit of a mix without things getting too muddled. I like to selectively and slowly add some white genes later in my lines so that I don't end up with gold/stars that are totally whited out or all have extensive white factors which was a problem I found when I started the game and bought other people's horses that were overloaded with extras. I do like solid colors so I have to ensure I keep solids around! I was only keeping flashy studs and before I knew it, I had nothing to help dilute excess white lol.
BREEDING DARKNESS (ok black liver but it sounds cooler)

Sounds like you've got a good plan there! I think Duelinghawks has a good point about studs and white factor. I have some splashy foundations, but I find in later generations I usually go with the plain studs and keep the flash in my mares (except in my fantasy line, which is anything goes!).
