We got her home today. She is a work in progress. I want to share our journey with you.
  • Oh what a gorgeous skinny miss! :×
She reminds me so much of my Gully when we first rescued him.

Breeding for all version of black drafts using chimera foundations.
Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy B/Red foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.

I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me.
  • Oh, poor skinny girl! She is beautiful already, she'll be drop dead gorgeous when she is filled out and healthy! She reminds me of my underweight rescue too.
    ID 43830
It's nice to be back! :)

  • Thanks guys. I am in awe of her. She is truly a diamond in the rough. My son and I are thinking of renaming her to start this new beginning. I have been checking on her.
I am glad the picture worked. I want you all to see our journey. I weighed her today and she is only 700 lbs. So I estimate she is 350 lbs underweight.
  • Poor baby :( She's beautiful now even grossly underweight but man she is going to be gorgeous after a few months with someone like you taking care of her. :x Looking forward to watching your journey.
    Dabbler in EVERYTHING.
  • Aww, poor thing. I'm so glad she's got a much better home now! I'm sure the difference in the photos you take next month will amaze you, though! Good luck with her!

  • Thanks. I am going to try my best with her. She deserves the best care possible.
  • Wow! I can’t wait to see “glow up” pictures! You can already tell she is going to be gorgeous though
Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

  • She is a Tennessee Walker. She is my first gaited horse. I own 2 other paints.
  • I agree with everyone else--she's lovely and will be even more so when you get her back in proper condition.

De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

  • She’s very pretty, and I agree she will fill out nicely. My mare was pretty ragged 2 and 1/2yr old when I got her, and It’s amazing the amount of much mucle and weight she’s put on in the past year and a half. How old is she?
  • She's so lovely, but all skin and bones! I hope your journey together is a smooth road, she looks like she'll be a beauty in no time.
  • I've rescued a few skinny horses, one so bad the state vet said 50-50 chance she may not make it off the trailer. ☹ Yours is in better condition than that one, so she'll be great in no time!

  • Thanks everyone for the encouragement. My vet was out and did a through evaluation of her. We pulled blood and everything came back good. The only thing that was a little high was her globulin. Not quite sure what that is but he didn't see anything in her bloodwork to indicate any issues.
He said her kidneys, liver, gut, heart, and lungs looked great on the CBC and what he heard when he checked her.
He said Sky and Caddo were a little to fat. They havent had any grain just running on 20 acres. Once her coggins come back she will go in with the boys.
He wants to try to see if we can get her to gain 200 lbs before the end of December. When our cold weather really hits.
  • What a pretty little thing - thanks for sharing. So glad she's found a good home. We will all be looking out for more photos... :X
Breeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.
  • Yes more photos will come if I can figure out how I uploaded it here. I can't seem to do it again. I was trying to upload my other boys up here so you all could see how they look. I can't figure it out.
