Excuse Me While I Roast This Horse...

Shine The Final Light
This gelding has a PT of 10.7 and is Consistent.
Very consistent.
He's consistently gotten last place in Every. Single. Show. he's ever been entered in.
He's my only 2 year old with no points to his name.
(I'm not sure exactly if this is a common occurrence or just a string of bad luck, but I find it simultaneously amusing and frustrating. Next week, I'll have to remember to try putting him in shows individually, so he's not just going against my other horses as I mass enter them) -
Lol, that is quite impressive!
Unfortunately for show horses, you never really know their worth until they level off. PT is only an indicator of how good their potential is, since it means they train more for longer. It's simply bad luck that after being trained every week this boy ends up with a score than lands him last in every show.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable.
On the look out for pointed creates -
Also, it really doesn't make any difference if they show against your other horses. Someone tested it years ago and it didn't matter.Thanked by 1ObsidianKitsune

On the bright side, he IS only two and he's been going up the show levels normally. He may surprise you next month. Or the month after. Or the month after. Or... ;)--------------------------------

I have a girl just like that - I am hoping she will improve someday:-

He just likes to walk backwards in the show ring. ;)

If it makes you feel any better, I had a star stallion once with a 11.9 con PT that was the same way. At age 6 he had like 12 points so he went to auction. This was before the advent of pointed creates so I typically kept everything with a good PT but he had to go lolBREEDING DARKNESS (ok black liver but it sounds cooler)

Focusing on the tallest riding horses -
With a PT score of 11.9, he probably wasn't leveled off yet, and wouldn't until he was about 11 years old. If he'd ended up in the middle or top half of his Level/Grade at that time would have given you a better idea of how valuable he might eventually have been.De gustibus non disputandum. I figured it had to do a bit with his age but I just found it funny :)) He's definitely staying in my show barn while I keep my fingers crossed he improves! I don't know what exactly he's doing in the show ring but hopefully he trains out of it lol
