What can these two produce?
-
I have been thinking about breeding these together next month, and I'm curious about what they can produce. What should I be expecting? Can they produce any color other than bay and chestnut?
Sire
Squall Star Beam
Dam

Sire's genetics:Ee AA CC nd2nd2 gg ff SstySsty Pp WF: Minimal
Sire will always pass down A, C, nd2, g, f, Ssty
Dams genetics:ee AA CC nd2nd2 gg FF SS Pp Kitw20Kit WF: Medium
Dam will always pass down e, A, C, nd2, g, F, S
So therefore the foal will look like this: Ee/ee, AA, CC, nd2nd2, gg, fF, SstyS, PP/Pp/pP/pp, with a 25% chance of getting kitw20
It's a 50/50 whether or not the foal would be bay or chestnut, but it'll never be black, as you need aa for thatProducer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Oh, I see. Thank you!

I was introduced to punnet squares early on, before this game, and they help a lot. I'm able to do them in my head now I'm that used to them! But if you ever need to, feel free to copy and paste the horses genetics and do what I did to help figure it out. We all start somewhere.
If you go to your stable home, you can scroll down and should be able to access some notes that you can write down on and save if you want :)Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

The thing is, you are used to horse genetics, not just punnet squares. I have never owned a horse, and this is the first time I pay attention to what genes actually cause each color variation.
The most they taught me at school was plant-related punnet squares.
Still, I love learning, so teach me for as long as you feel like. -
True, it does take a while to understand what everything stands for, and I have been playing this game for a while!
Here is a link where everything you can find in a horses genetic code, and even some you can't (like dp, and snowflake, which are hidden but you can see), is explained and pictures are included
