Why's she blue? Nexus/Wrong Warp question
-
Anyone out there familiar with how Nexus and Wrong Warp work? I have these three beauties and I'm curious why the intact foal (FYG3 RANA) has blue and the spelds don't. Basically the same genetic combos in each. Is it a simple reroll thing, or is there an interaction I am missing? And no, I have not tried any rerolls as yet. Nor am I certain I want to, except as an experiment to see what happens next. :)

i know that sometimes wrong warp can create blue patches if white spotting genes or dilutents are present, but i think its otherwise pretty random. maaaaybe you could get some blue spots if you rerolled their portraits? dont quote me though.

The foal looks to be a chestnut and the other two are black so that will have an effect.
There is always a fair amount of variation in each horse colour but blacks, with the inversion effects of nexus, are usually greyish and the chestnuts and bays tend to pick up more of the blues.

When you start to mix in things like, cream, pearl, dun, silver, and champagne that will change the effects a bit more.ID# 47364

Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy B/Red foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.
I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me. -
It’s the base color of your foals. Black based Nexus tends to be gray body color, chestnut tends to be that pale blue, Hom cream turns dark black with the Stars. This thread may help you see the differences:
