Papering Question- Solved
-
So, this little girl papered Red, coming from C and Yellow parents. Both parents are Rank Specials. Her PT is 10, higher than her parents. And she is Consistent. So why did her breeding inspection label her as Failed?

Breeding Inspection is papering, so she didn't paper red, she papered Failed. This means that her breeding ability is worse than her parents. But she will be able to train more than her parents. Remember: Breeding ability and showing ability are not linked. A horse can be a good shower, but a terrible breeder, and vice verse. BA is a good tool to tell if a horse is going to be at least as good as, only a smidgen worse, or better than one or both parents. But if a horse is significantly worse than one parent, they'll be automatically altered.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Ag, dammit, sorry! I'm not awake; her half sister papered Red and I merged the two in my sleep deprived mind. Ignore me, please!Thanked by 1ObsidianKitsune

No problem! I've done silly things in my sleep too, especially when it comes to testing.
All I'm thinking of is that she may make a nice pairing with Ralph lolProducer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

At least you didn't accidentally pop a stud into your primary pasture with mixed mares when you meant to put him into a 10 acre pasture for even breeding, then notice right after you clicked breed. I had 50 uneven, snipped foals for my alt this week. Lol~*~ Justa ~*~

There is an interesting post about PT vs Breeding. It's pretty old, but the general ideas are the same: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/10182/general-information-showing-vs-breeding#Item_2
