Mushroom and chinchilla
-
What are the effects of the two genes and how do they look on livers and onyx? Specifically looking to add it to this Stallion.
4527078 liver onyx wnw -
Chinchilla will turn him white, so you won’t see the onyx/splash/frame markings. Chinchilla turns all red based horses white, as it’s mainly for black and bay horses. This is how he would look if you added chinchilla and mushroom to him, see how this guy is all white except a couple barring marks on his legs.

Mushroom will make your horse look similar to this guy

Chinchilla will turn any red horse pure white, regardless of other genes.
Mushroom dilutes red pigment

@FallenShadows714 if she added chinchilla and mushroom the horse would be pure white without the leg markings. He would look like this

Just going to pipe in here. I know it isn’t relevant to your original question but AHayesHorses said chinchilla will turn any horse pure right regardless of other genes.
This isn’t actually 100% accurate. I have several Hom chinchillas and none are pure white. I was rather shocked to see them turn out with so much colour.
Watercolour and also wrong warp must over ride the chinchilla. Here’s a link to my hom chinchillas.

PM me for any enquiries. -
@AHayesHorses Yes, that is true most will look white like the horse you posted. However, the horse you posted does not have onyx, while the one I posted does. Onyx might override the white just enough to display a small amount of leg barring, or a reroll of the horse I posted might cause the barring to disappear.

@fallenshadows714 the OP posted a liver red onyx (red based, e/e). Chinchilla makes ALL red based horses solid white, no matter what other genes are present. The one you posted is black based (E/e), which is why there are markings showing.
AHayesHorses is correct that the OP's horse will be solid white unless they add an E.#28036Thanked by 1BlackWyld -
That’s weird, I had specifically noted to leave out black based horses in my search. I didn’t even think to check that it had in fact excluded black or bay horses. My apologies!
