id say no. i think its just the nd1 that is making her look a lil dark

The nice thing about chestnuts is that it's one of the few colors that can give us a pretty good idea if the horse carries DP. If a chestnut horse carries three or four darkening genes (both sooty and DP are the darkening genes) it will be identified as a liver chestnut.
This mare has two copies of sooty, but her color is identified as a chestnut, not liver chestnut. We know she can't have DP because, if she did, she'd have those three darkening genes that would make her a liver chestnut.Thanked by 1FeldingFields
