Quick search looks like comparable stallions are going for around 10k. Add say 2.5k for the fantasy gene?

How does 12.5k sound?

I always have some bootstrap stock available. :) I can help you with show ponies and breeding stock. Are you wanting anything in particular?

Argh, I literally just spayed all the Bootstrap mares I had that I wasn't going to keep breeding. I have a couple of red and blue mares and fillies I might part to help you start out if you wanted to pick one or two. They're not fantastically papered or PTed, but most of them have given me good foals. When I started, the majority of my bootstrap mares were foundations that weren't the right bone, couple of uneven horses from when I was learning how to play, and Rank Specials that were pretty but didn't fit in my main lines. As bootstrapped foals come of age, I replace the foundations and the lower papered horses with the new blues and golds. It goes a lot faster than you'd think, and it's cheaper than seeding your bootstrap pasture entirely with golds or blues.

There's a Bootstrapping chat that's also been very helpful for me and frequently has horses for sale or stud.
