    Can Basic accounts use straws? I'm still learning some of the "unspoken" rules of the game (DP, even breeding, etc.) :)

    Yes. Basic account can pull straws, save them, use them, sell them.

    From the Basic Upgrade description:
    Collect and save straws from stallions for future breedings.
    Use the straws or sell them to other members.
    De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

    With a Basic, you can also buy and implant (aka foal out) embryos from players with Premium Upgrades : )

    Just to add onto what has already been mentioned, as a Basic Upgrade you can only have out a total of 100 straws per stallion you own. That is inclusive of straws you have sent to other players and straws you have out for your own personal use. As a Premium Upgrade, you may have out a total of 500 straws per stallion you own.

    As a helpful, straws are more expensive to use than hand breeding your own stud or the pasture so don't rely on them till your daily income can buffer the hit.
