BlackOut and the Dun Gene

    So I understand why the grey and agouti genes are removed during the BlackOut event but why is the Dun gene removed?

    I am not complaining at all just curious because I always considered Grullo to be just black dun. Is there more to it than that?
    Is there someone better versed in equine genetics that can enlighten me?

    And does that mean it is not possible to get and nd1 create during this event?

    I am just super curious.

    I suppose Dun is a lightening gene. Pearl is also removed which is also considered a lightening gene.
    I don't actually know - am just guessing :)

    Grullo isn't the same as black, so it is not part of the event.
