Snowflake on non-appys?

Does snowflake show up on horses that arent appaloosas?
Tossing up whether to gene mod one of my blue roan stallions -
The requirements for snowflake to show are rather strict. First, the horse must be homozygous for snowflake to show. This means they must have 2 copies of it. Second, they must have at least 1 copy of the appaloosa gene (Llp). If they are hom but do not have the appy gene, then it is 'hidden'. If you put snowflake on one of your blue roan stallions, you can breed them to appy mares to see if any of them are het for snowflake. Or you can gmt appy onto them themselves.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Appaloosa is the gene that causes varnishing, snowflake is a gene that modifies the appearance of that varnishing. With our appaloosa snowflake has nothing to modify.Need to contact me?
