Chinchilla Gene
-
IR Chinchilla
What would Chinchilla look on this mare? I also would like to add Mushroom to another horse but on a stud.
ID: 48042 -
Chinchilla would turn her completely white.
It removes all red pigmentation so all horses that are chestnut based (no E) will be whited out.ID# 47364
Breeding for all version of black drafts using chimera foundations.
Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy B/Red foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.
I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me.Thanked by 1HomeSweetHome -
Someone else asked about it a little while ago and there are some decent examples of the effects of chinchilla Here.
Hopefully that may help. :)ID# 47364

In cases like this, I love the horse search.
First, input your current mares genetics (ee, no dilution genes, hom sooty). Then you add in the gene you want to see (chinchilla, so chnchn) then search. In this case the hom AtAt doesn't matter, because it has no E gene to work off of.
I found this horse, as well as many others, who are basically identical to that mare, just hom chinchilla

Take that back Lol I don’t have any bay horses that would work.

Bay based chinchillas end up looking like this. If it's not what you want, then I suggest looking at another gene because chinchilla turns red pigment into white, that's just what it does.

Unfortunately there is no colour such as "white" in horses. You can have combinations that result in close to white, but if you want a lot of examples of that I suggest making a thread dedicated to it.
As for mushroom, it works on red pigment as well. Here's a post describing how it works with examples: https://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/60469/brand-new-for-june-mushroom-gene-till-june-15th-closed/p1Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
