Writing Giveaway
-
I just hit 200k/day in show bonus! So I decided to have a low-drama/easy giveaway.
Please write me a story! Best story gets 200k! Having a word minimum is too demeaning and sounds like a school assignment BUT.... perceived effort will have a factor on who earns the 200k. (IE I will be bummed if you only write out 3 sentences) However quality of story does not have an affect on my decision of winner....
Will probably close in 5 days or so.
In the meantime, if you see me online today, please PM and yell at me! I am (supposed) to be practicing for an FFA competition tomorrow, and I am the weakest member on this particular event (Meat evaluation as I can't compete in horse evaluation any more). So......Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

If this isn't over...
I couldn't choose out of the two I wrote one is a poem and the other a story
(his father is the silver crumby in the fist but in the second i made up the stallion)
Poem
King of the wild
Wild horses gallop through my dreams,
Their leader a blue and silver stallion.
Beautiful mares with cute foals at foot,
But…
The stallion he is king
King of the Wild
His father the silver brumby, a legend told round the campfire,
Even bows to this magnificent night stallion
The Ghost Stallion they call him.
When they gallop through my dreams the stallion he stops and rears.
Calling a challenge to those who dare challenge him,
The mightiest stallion of all
Then vanishes into the night like the ghost he is.
When I wake up there he is in my mind calling his eerie call
Story
The Ghost Stallion
It was a beautiful morning, sunrise was blooming in the sky, in a half hidden cave was a stunning dunskin tobiano mare who was about introduce a new life to the world. With one final heave the foal was born. Lyria a dunskin tobiano mare was to have a foal that day to the silver grullo stallion named Ace, now the foal was finally born, she turned to see a beautiful colt, possibly to beautiful for his own good. Behind her he lay quite still looking at the world. A beautiful blue roan colt with a big silvery white patch the colour of the moon on his rump with two silvery white stockings on his front legs & two silvery white socks on his hind legs. He had a really weirdly shaped blaze that had the same silvery white colour, he also had a strike of silvery white through his forelock, mane & tail. Lyria knew what to call the stunning colt the moment she saw him 'Ghost' for the strange colour he was looked extremely ghostly & he would have to act like ghost to keep out of mans grasp… He was able to stand around half an hour later but it took him an hour to be steady on his feet so they started their slow journey back to Ace's valley from the half hidden cave, near a crystal clear river where Ghost had been born. As they were steadily jogging towards Ace's valley, a man saw Ghost & wanted him for himself. As Lyria had predicted he would be sought for by men who wished to posses Ghost for the rest of his life because of his glorious rare coloring. The man snuck up on the beautiful colt & his dam then threw his rope with very precise aim, managing to get the loop over Ghost's head, Ghost panicked as the loop tightened around his neck because of his panic he was rearing & snorting which caused the rope to become tighter. Lyria saw where the rope came from & charged, she didn't give birth to the beautiful colt just for him to be caught within a few hours of his birth, she started to strike at the man with her feet being careful not to hurt him to badly , the man dropped the rope & ran from the protective mares feet, after the man had retreated Lyria cantered back to Ghost & helped him get the loop of the rope of his head then they cantered to Ace's valley making sure the man didn't follow them. When Ace saw the he pranced over his head high & proud, He nickered then touched noses with Lyria. Ghost was hidden behind his mother watching the stunning stallion touch his nose with Lyria. Lyria saw her foal being shy
"It is okay little one this is your father the current king of the southern brumbies, Ace" nickered Lyria to Ghost, so Ghost slowly & cautiously walked out from behind his mother & sniffed Ace's nose, Ace stood astounded by the newborn colts beauty
"What is your name?" Ace neighed curiously
"My name is Ghost." nickered the colt shyly, Ace nodded it was the perfect name for the strange colt. -
I love this idea and so wish I had time to participate. I have ideas but am in the midst of vet school midterms until next week. But, I've been eagerly waiting to see what other people come up with!

Based on the original post it would have closed tomorrow, but I'm more concerned about number of entries than an actual date, so there is no close date.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

Part 1
There once was a little girl who’s father loved her very much. Her name was Bina and, he was always bringing her gifts, but he was also always leaving. Which is why I suppose he brought her gifts so much, because he felt horrible about always leaving. But he was a horse merchant in the kingdom and known not only for the fine horses he had but also for his honesty about the horses. Something truly remarkable in a horse trader, which is why he had earned the name horse merchant.
Anyway in a time when girls were supposed to wear pretty dresses, embroider handkerchiefs, and practice dance. He knew his daughter didn’t really love those things much. So her lessons were on how to run a business. Being able to tell what quality a horse was, and all sorts of useful things concerning horses. She loved it almost as much as she loved him. Now there were one set of lessons only three people knew about and those were the fighting lessons the father insisted his daughter learn. She liked them but wasn’t quite sure why they were so important. When she asked all her father said was “your mother wanted you to learn” since her mother had died when she was very little, she was happy to learn it to feel colder to the mother she never knew.
So she grew from a little girl to a young woman, who was very pretty. She was often told she was the image of her mother, which always made her happy. Her hair was a shiny mahogany brown, her eyes were a emerald green, her form was willowy, but not to be mistaken as thin or reedy. All together her imag was that of a proper young woman who wanted nothing more than to find a suitable husband and get married. But her looks were deceiving, while she liked men her father had drilled into her most men were not to be trusted. That they would only see her welth and not actually see who she was. About the time she turned 12 he had found an elf that was willing to be her body guard. He chose an elf becaus, they were good fighters, honest, but mostly they has no interest in humans as anything but friends or employers. So his daughter was completely safe with an elf as a body guard.
Not the elf was a bit taller than his charge, his hair was black with silver tips, he had a sharp jaw, silver eyes, his skin was neither pale nor tan but just in
the middle, and of course pointy ears. His face was that of a 20yr old but really he was much older. Typical elf, now elves have no interest in humans, but humans were known for falling all over themselves to flirt with elves. So this elf told his little mistress to call him Wind. Not his real name, but it was better than elf. Anyway they went everywhere together. Anywhere you can think of they went for 8yrs he was her consistent companion and really only friend (unless you count her horses).
When she was 20 her father had gone over the mountains to sell a king horses and while he was there he sent word to his estate that he wished his daughter to join him. His letter stated he wished her to come quickly. So her and Wind saddled their fastest horses. Bina had a talk creamy dun mare named Kalla, and Wind had a gorgeous dark seal brown gelding named Vash. They started their journey across the mountains immediately. At first it was completely ordinary nothing special happened. Just riding by day and staying at inns during the night. Really for Bina it was like a vacation. At least it was until they came to the mountain crossing. They started the day early to get across it in one day so they wouldn’t have to spend the night on the mountain range. When they reached the top Wind had them stop. There was a road running along the top of the mountains in both directions, along with the road heading straight that they were talking. He pointed to the right that is where the road was. “That goes to the Drawf lands. Most of your jewelry came from there” He said softly. He nodded to the left “that one leads into my homeland.” He murmured.

Part 2
Instantly Bina’s curiosity was raging forward. Never before had he ever said anything so personal as that. But before she could say anything caos erupted. Men came screaming from every direction swarming them like ants. Within minutes the fighting was over and Bina had never been so grateful for an over protective father until that moment. She knew she would have been dead if it wasn’t for her fighting lessons, as well as Wind. She turned with relief just in time to watch Wind crumple and fall from Vash’s back. She shrieked as she flung herself off of Kalla’s back. She reached him within seconds and found a huge wound in his side. How a mighty warrior had received such a horrible wound to mere bandits she would later come to question. But there was no doubt the wound would be fatel. Wind was already unconscious as she desperately tried to stop the bleeding.
Vash and Kalla had been grazing ever since their riders had dismounted rather abruptly. They were rather calm and not much caused them alarm. Without warning their heads flew up and they faced one of the paths their ears swiveling furiously. Bina reached for her sword right as several riders came cantering into view.
The first rider was mounted on a great black stallion. She couldn’t help, but admire for his beauty, and obvious strength and power. His rider was a tall woman, willowy like herself but that’s where the resemblance ended. Her hair was a mousy blond that had an odd shimmer of bronze and gold. Light eyes, she couldn’t tell what color they were maybe blue. Her mouth would be pretty if it wasn’t set in a hard line. She was pretty but not beautiful. The air of authority and power radiating off of her made beauty insignificant.
The four riders behind her were mounted on snow white geldings. The horses were great but not as amazing as the black. The riders were all male elves, with a variety of hair, eye and skin color. But every one of them was very handsome. The first two had great elven spears in their hands as well as swords at their hips. The last two each had a bow and quiver on their backs as well as a sword. They were obviously elite warriors.
All of this scrutiny happened in less then half a minute. Then the first rider was on the cross road. Her stallion halted with no apparent cue from his rider, it was simply as if all movement from them had ended. As the rider looked down at Bina, her pointed ears finally became visible. The other four had obviously not expected the sudden halt. Their horses all did a half rear as they came to a halt, making quite a scene.
Bina called out desperately “please help him! He’s dying” For she knew most elves had magic. Wind had told her that the higher the status of an elf usually the more powerful magic they had.

Part 3
The elf woman looked at her, and slowly spoke. “I cannot heal him, my power does not lend itself to such things.” The look on her face went from stern to solemn, with a touch of amusement. “But you could heal him.”
Bina did not hear nor comprehend the last bit the elf had told her. Tears flowed down Bina’s face as she gasped out “what good is magic if it cannot save people?” Wind’s skin was turning pale, and his breath was coming out in raged, wet, gasping, wheezes.
The woman spoke again. “I cannot. But you can child. But if you don’t heal him quickly he will be gone forever.” Her voice took on a ring of power. “Look inside yourself and find your strength, wish it too him along with what your desire is.”
Bina had finally heard the elf woman’s words of hope. The last bit was cryptic, but that was the best she was going to get. She searched herself for the strength the woman said she had and wished with all her might for her friend to heal. Quite suddenly she felt as if a string of her strength was leaving her body. Wind’s breathing became easier, blood quit flowing between her fingers. Finally when she thought she’d die from lack of strength the ribbon between them snapped.
She jerked and looked around, she felt as if she’d been in a dream. But nothing had changed, Vash and Kalla were grazing. Wind was still laying in her arms it seemed as if he was dead for he wasn’t breathing. She looked up at the elf lady and her guards. “Is he dead?” She whispered.
“No” the elf woman said “you healed him, his body is simply reordering itself before he awakens.” The woman looked at her very intensely. “Interesting... I will tell you a open secret that I believe you will find useful one day. Sometimes an elf may fall in love with a human, it happens but rarely. Their children if they have any will bare all the looks of a human but be far more beautiful, but they will always have the elvin magic.” Then her horse turned back the way they’d come her gards following behind her.
Bina barely remembered to yell “thank you!” At their rapidly disappearing hooves.
Seconds later Wind woke “why am I still alive?” He said with surprise as he felt his stomach.
“Those are your first words after almost dying on me?” She hissed with shock.
“I knew I was a dead man, but I’m obviously fine.” His schok was very apparent in his voice.
So she told him of the elf lady and the secret she had been told as well. As she spoke his eyes got wider and wider, and the color drained from his face. “You met... Is.. Ivy” He said suddenly changing the name. “She is the most powerful elf in over a thousand years, and she wasn’t born to a noble family.” Then his face got even paler, which Bina hadn’t thought possible. “Rumor has it she had a younger sister who fell in love with a human, but was killed by Ivy’s enemys almost two decades ago... I think I’m going to be sick!”
“I thought you said elves don’t get sick?” Bina said with a start. Deciding to focus on that rather than the possibly life changing fact he’d just told her.
“We can get sick when the person we’ve been protecting for the last 8 years turns into the niece of the most powerful elf in the world! And her own magic is nothing to sneeze at, since she was able to heal a fatal wound on her first try without any training!” He said with his voice a good octave or two higher than normal.
“Oh” she said in a small voice as she realized she was half elf. There was no way for her to deny it. Humans as a rule did not have magic.
“Calm down” Wind said “It’s not like you’re now the queen of the elves.” He said trying for humor.
Her face held a look of absolute terror. “I could become the queen of the elves?”
He quickly tried to fix his mess “no only if you marry the crown prince. He’s married though so you don’t have to worry about that.”
She sighed. Then she turned and looked at him. “Are you ready to ride? Because I have a lot of questions for my father.”
Wind laughed “I believe Lady Bina that is a great understatement.” He stood grabbing Vash’s reins. “I’m fine to ride. Lets go.”
Bina sprang to her feet threw Kalla’s reins over the mare’s neck flung herself into the saddle and started cantering down the road with Wind racing after her. She knew she finally would get answers out of her father. Just as she knew her life would never be the same again. -

Would it help if I gave a prompt?
For sure not required, but....
As a kid I used to write novels. A lot of them. Then I came up with a new book. The problem is I can't get myself to write the first page. I think it sounds ridiculous. And I can't get myself to write books out of order. So I would love ideas for the first page/first chapter or so.
Anyways, the basic plot is Prince John rescued a mare before this book takes place. She is the cross of a wealthy merchant's prize mare that he uses to show off at formal occasions, and used for hunting and runs of gets herself pregnant with a farmers draft stallion... Ooops. He is infuriated and plans to kill the resulting filly. Prince John swoops in, and rescues the filly. Turns out she got the best of both breeds. She's strong and levelheaded from the draft stallion, but fancy, and fast from her dam. Fast forward a bit Prince John is allowed to cross the mare with his father (the king's) prize warhorse. The book starts from the resulting colt's point of view when he is being born. He has some attitude, and stands up soon. Creates a bond with Prince john, but HATES the head groom Halt. Then I had the adventures all planned out that he and John went on. But I forgot about them since I can't seem to get past the first page.
Some of the issues is finding the right balance of having an intelligent horse. Yes pushing realisticness on the intelligence of the horse, but still almost believable. Other problem is i wanted to set up background, but how is a colt going to know everything preceding his birth? Especially in the present tense as I would prefer to write it.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

I will send both of you 200k tonight after auction.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

Thank you.
For your story, you could always have Prince John tell the foal the story of his mother, the day he is born as he nurses for the first time. That way you have the background but the reader is getting that knowledge in the present tense as John bonds with the colt.Thanked by 1FeldingFields
