    I must have missed this somewhere... I just bred this colt and he came up as splash 3? I dot think I’ve ever heard of it or seen it before. If I have I must have forgotten.

    As far as I know, it was released with Mr Meteoric Milestone, which is where your colt picked it up. It’s only been released once in the year I’ve been playing (I think) in the GMT lab over the summer sales.

    I’m not seeing any kind of announcement about it, and there isn’t anything in the genetics guide about it. I think I remember someone saying it was a more aggressive form of splash, where it causes more white on the horse.

    Announcement made introducing Splash 3 on HaJ1 by Ammit in Dec. 2014 .

    As our holiday gift to you I have sent every member a straw from Lupin The Third. So each of you have a chance at his splash 3 gene.

    Lupin The Third is a Buckskin Dun Splash Brindle and the founder of Splash 3. Splash 3 is a more aggressive mutation of MITF (the same gene that causes regular splash). Splash 3 horses have as much white as normal homozygous splash horses. This aggressive behavior makes it homozygous lethal with itself and lethal if combined with splash 2. However splash 3 and splash 1 look lovely and loud together.

    In addition to the information in Sandy Creek’s post, Splash 3 is also safe with Splash Macchiato.

    It isn’t usually available in the GMT Lab but it should be available in the rotating gene sales.

    I was hoping it would be available in the roving gene sales, but according to this post it is not. And it also wasn’t available during the Christmas Day Sale, where all the genes were for sale.
