So recently I was wondering what is the abnormally high points for a show horse at 2,3,4 and so on. And what are the horses with pathetically low points for their age. I decided I wasn’t going to count the foundations with points. However I wasn’t able to just cut out foundations because I’m a new barn so most of my older show horses are foundations.

I searched my show horses by age starting at 2 and put the highest point score and the lowest point score. I’d like to share what I found.

2. - 23.0 - 1.0
3. - 75.0 - 12.0
4. - 135.0 - 17.5
5. - 168.5 - 60.5
6. - 268.0 - 85.0
7. - 336.5 - 127.0
8. - 461.0 - 214.0
9. - 639.0 - 269.0
10. - 902.0 - 81.0 the 2nd lowest is 364.0
11. - 956.0 - 266.0
12. - 1149.0 - 492.5
13. - 1026.5 - 537.0
14. - 789.0 only have one 14yr old
15. I don’t have any this age
16. - 1064.0 - 516.0
I don’t have any show ponies older than 16

I hope this helps you as much as it helped me. If you want to add your horses numbers go for it.

I've found that the lowest pointed after 3 tend to be mares who spent a substantial amount of time in the pasture.
