I am Fairy. I have always liked horses. I joined to learn more about equine genetics. I have a pony named Molly. I am looking for friends. I just joined and started playing so I don't have any problems yet. I don't drink soda, only herbal tea.

Hello all! I'm MotherConfessor, named after my favorite book series. I've always loved horses and joined this after several years on Howrse. I wanted a game with more realistic genetics and breeding style, and I found HuntAndJump! We have two cats and a dog, but we're looking to move into a bigger house with some land so we can start our at-home stable ♥

- I have liked horses for my entire life!
- I've always wanted to try HAJ, just never gave it a shot.
- I have dogs and cats right now; no horses sadly.
- I'm always looking for new friends!
- I'm pretty much confused on most aspects of the game, but I think over time once I complete more tasks it will make more sense!
- I'm a slave to Diet Coke. I'm addicted. It's probably a problem.

Hello! I actually played HAJ around 10 years ago (wow!), it'll be fun to see if any of my old horses are way back in some bloodlines! I own Buffy the Haflinger, she is leased to a hunter barn currently since I don't have much time to ride.
I can't wait to get back into the game!

I think I had this same name, and I played Shoco a little bit but stuck more with HAJ :)
It's definitely changed since last time I played but I'm excited to get back into the game!

How long have you liked horses? - All my life. Been doodling and oogling horses for as long as i can remember. Real horsies to expensive of upkeep, blah blah blah, so i collect Breyers, have almost 130 of them.
Why did you join HAJ? - Ive played it way back. Thought it might be fun to see how its changed.
What kind of pets do you own? - Two darling doggies, ones a jack russel, the other a tiny, overly affectionate and protective chihuahua-daschund mix. Such sweethearts, love em to bits

What is something you are confused about with the game? - Ehh, idk yet? i mean, the genetics are kinda confusing and i wonder why my new-spawned frame horses are kinda solid brown lol i thought theyd be a wee bit flashier, but theyre exceptional producers and passed their exams so yay. also how do i paper them? and what does the different levels of papership mean?

@RunaRose Welcome! First things first, I suggest joining the beginner's barn chat - it's a great place to lurk and learn!

Frame is a tricky one, as it can show up not at all or really drastically. Generally, it wants some other white gene to modify before you really start seeing the patterns it can make.

Exceptional producers are always going to pass BA/SBA, and will paper B/Red. The paperings, in order from worst to best, are:

Mare ----- Stud
Failed ---- Showable Only
Yellow ---- C
Red ------- B
Blue ------ A
Gold ------ Star

Papers indicate the breeding quality of a horse, with higher papers meaning a horse is a higher quality breeder. PT tells you how good of a shower the horse is, genetic testing tells you the color, and breeding advice/strict breeding advice tells you how the horse's breeding quality compares to that of their parents.

If you want a more in depth look into any of this, feel free to ask questions in the forum, in the beginner's barn chat, or even just PM me if you want! I'm always happy to answer questions. :)

You can also take advantage of the fabulous horse search we have here. In your menu, under the community tab, right beneath "My Peer Group", there's a link for "Search Horses". This will take you to the horse search, where you can look up such things as frame carrying horses with different white genes, what those white genes look like by themselves, what a color combination looks like, or even what different weights, and heights look like or what you get when a bay horse gets a copy of cream or champagne - it's a great tool!

@RoyalRose Great idea! Show horses are the backbone of your operation, and most people recommend roughly 3 snips for every intact you've got :)

@JauntToo Have fun! I love taking advantage of making pointed creates on my side account and selling them. I've gotten a basic membership and several barns from it!

Got a beautiful foal crop /:) So many foals! /:) I kept the 5 A colts whole, and kept about 14 fillies whole, a mix of Blue and Red, mostly Blues. Spayed\gelded about 6 foals. Most of em were real nice flashy babies like appies!

I'm actually not a horse person in real life...I am, however, really into genetics and how they play out through the generations, so this is a very exciting game for me!

I have two dogs, with plans to get a few more. I train dogs at a higher sporting/protection level, and am involved with the cane corso community.

I don't drink soda much really, but live on black tea, and every once in a while will enjoy a rootbeer float.

Thus far I think I'm interested in breeding blue roans, appaloosas, and perlino/cremello type horses...or some mix of the three. I can't wait to see how this goes!
