How did this happen?!

I've been busy buying and breeding for my giftees, so I haven't spent much time actually paying attention to the horses I have bred. Really, I just look at the image to figure out if they have what I'm looking for, then move on. Well, these girls missed the Ice gene I wanted them to have, so I ignored them. Now I find out that they're both gold! My very first golds! I gave myself a Christmas present without even trying.
