I believe that Dance Between Two Oceans was at least het snowflake. I can't find a thread on this subject yet, but I have a stud who, as far as I can see, has no snowflake in his line, but he threw a hom snowflake when I bred him to a hom snowflake mare.

Are y'all sure...? I bred my DBTO colt with multiple hom/het snowflake mares that carry appy, and none of them were hom snowflake..

I know that the one millionth horse has snowflake, but I don't think DBTO does..

If he's het, your boy may not have inherited the allele. There would have only been a 50% chance. Where as theirs could have. :) He would have to be hom for snowflake for all his foals to have it.

@MariaChapinFarm3 your colt just didn’t get the one copy of snowflake. DBTO was only HET snowflake not HOM so not all foals got a copy.EasternShowBarn

He could have been hom snf, DBTO was not an Appaloosa. For all we know he was a silent hom snowflake, just like Mr Meteoric Milestone. I don’t recall seeing anywhere if he was hom or het.
