So I think I just bred my first Gold filly!

SL Sister Act G5G SNF

I bred both of her parents, but none of the generations before them. Does she still count as my first Gold? By Gen 5 is pretty good isn’t it?

I’m pretty happy that she’s snowflake too! When she’s old enough will I have to find a Star papered 5th gen colt to breed her to? I haven’t got any of those yet!

Of course it counts! Most of us got our first golds and stars based on horses from others lines. My first stars and golds came from horses I got from Cheers during the herd dispersal she had. Her lines are still behind many of my horses as are many other breeders horses. I do have many Stars and Golds now that I have bred up from pure my lines, but I do not pay attention to the difference.

Aw thanks guys! Now I can let myself celebrate a little bit haha. I got a gold filly last season too, but she was by a straw and out of a mare I’d just bought so it felt like cheating if I’d claimed that as my first xD

She is gorgeous! If you ever need straws I have multiple 5th gen Star boys that are hom SNF also :)
