Was going through my foals from last season and came across this fellow! I had to double check to make sure there wasn't any hidden KP in his lines and, while it's on the sire's side, I know it's not on the dam's side. I'm not aware of mutations being a thing - is this perhaps a bug?

I suppose it depends whether or not both of those question marks are for snowflake or if one is for kp!

And...I can register him - which is so strange. What a surprise!

Arthur's Run was definitely hom snowflake and I'm almost certain I put two copies of snowflake on him. KP isn't a gene I've ever really fancied and I don't remember adding it. He must have been het KP before I bought him - but I don't remember that ever being the case with him. What a mystery...

I don’t think somatic mutations are a thing in the game, so his dam has to be het for kp since he’s hom

Kp must have been added to Arthurs Run, maybe by Goobani, before you bought him

I added KP to a couple of horses early on in the game but never really got into it, so I passed them on. I couldn't tell you if he was one of them :) I would say if I sold him to you for 250k it is highly likely lol

That’s definitely possible - or, perhaps, most likely the explanation, because i know the mare didn’t have it. But, there was no mention of the KP in the auction thread - so you must have forgotten about it, too, @Goobanni! All in all, quite the surprise!

Kp needs 2 Kit genes and 2 KP to show the clouds. This is the first generation all 4 happened now to be on the same horse.

I would mark the mare and stud to reflect that they have KP. (On hj1 I use KP for the homo horses and then all their foals get kp to indicate that they have one set of kp for sure)
