Trying to convince myself of reasons not to add a copy of S+ to this superior to sire boy...

Well, unfortunately his dam does not carry a copy of S+, so it cannot he added to him. But he is gorgeous!

No, the gene sales are only for foundations I think. Unless you can add the missed gene onto the lined horse, then it might let you.
