I just got this cute little filly. Out of 2 het snowflake parents, but I can’t tell whether or not she is hom. I’ve only bred one snowflake foal myself so far, still learning what to look for! The ice makes it difficult to tell and means I can’t register her with the breeders club. Also she’s hom DP right?

I dont think she is hom snowflake, sadly- but I do believe she is hom DP :D

Definitely hom DP, unfortunately not hom snowflake though. It’s a good possibility she is het snowflake though, since she has 2 het parents.

So it’s just the ice pattern playing havoc with my eyes? Lol. I don’t have many fantasy gene horses so I don’t know how it expresses!
I might have to wait til next season for my second snowflake foal then.

Here is one of my ice 8 foals, she has the same speckles on her legs your little lady does.

Thanks that shows really well how it’s meant to look. I don’t suppose you have any Ice 8 foals that actually are snowflake for comparison?

This one of mine has snowflake. You can mainly see the white spots on his hind end!!

Here's one of Speckles' kids that got both the snowflake and the ice8! I find it easiest to see where the snowflake dots are underneath the ice splotches.

The surest way to tell is to check the Breeders Club for snowflake and see if your foal is on the eligible list to join.

@pfrsue The only problem here is that anything fantasy means the horse can only be entered in the fantasy club. That means no snowflake club, no kp club, no nothing.
