KP question?
-
What is KP exactly?
I have a few KP studs but I don't know how to tell if foals have it or not. Aside from, like on the stallion below, that cloudy pattern.

I sell all my RS's as custom creates. Message me to reserve an upcoming create. -
All I know is that KP is sorts like snowflake. There is no real way to tell if a horse has it, unless they show the large white spots or come from horses that carry said gene.
That's all I know :-p

The only way to know for certain if the horse is hom is to enter them in the KP breeders club. Otherwise, you can of course tell if both parents are in the club then the foal will be.
KP requires the horse to be hom for KP (kit promoter, a hidden gene) as well as having two copies of the kit gene. That means Kitw20Kitw20, or KitrKitw20, KitmKitw3, anything, as long as it’s not missing a kit gene.
In short, go click on the “breeders clubs” under the community tab and click on the kit promoter breeder club and see if there’s anybody that can be entered into it. :)ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! Your filly is homozygou KP :)
Any foals by that stallion will be at least heterozygous KP. Homozygous if bred to KP mares and the mare also passes on her copy.
Same with the filly any foals from her will be at least heterozygous KP. If you breed her to a homozygous stallion the foal will be homozygous KP.
