It is just a random thing that happens sometimes. It isn't anything that needs to be fixed as it is in place to prevent cheating and changing the program to be more intuitive is way too much trouble.

On the rare occasion where stranger accounts like ours are flagged as associated we just see if we can find someone to act as a go-between.
Someone was kind enough to grab the girl and put her up for me so everything is good. :)

Here's a link to the explanation about how accounts can become associated even when the owners have no real-life connections. It's based on the way the Internet identifies computers that are online.
