Question on Egg Sales
-
The whole collecting, selling, and using egg thing is new to me - I just really figured out straws.
I'd like to float an idea to see if it's viable. I have three mares that I think might have eggs in demand. Would it make sense to pull them out of the pasture on day 1, collect eggs on day 2,7, and maybe 12, then return them to the pasture for a two week bonus befote I breed them myself? then I would have 4 potential foals/year out of rare mares, or 1 foal and three eggs to sell or use later.
Does anyone else do this? is there a pitfall I am missing? Might these mares be useful?
Here are the mares I think might be attractive to other breeders:
Cherry Drop with HOM Mushroom
WM RS Sakura DP MU
Cherry Drop with HOM Sooty
WM RS DP Black Cherry
Hidden Gates with HOM At agouti (brown) alleles
TT RS Gates of Dawn -
I would be interested in a hom mushroom egg.
However if you pull single eggs im not sure that you can then breed for a foal. a mass flush means no foals that season.ID #21047 -
You can pull an egg from a mare every 5 days, once you are done pulling eggs you can breed them. Unless you do a mass flush then they are done for the seasonID# 45123

Yes - I thought that was the difference between a single egg pull and a mass flush - you can breed after a single egg pull. Pluss - a mass flush is 125,000 HB!
